Growing up in Lovettsville, Virginia, I was very fortunate to have animal loving parents who were very supportive of the menagerie of animals that came through our lives. We had many pocket pets, dogs and cats, a pony, goat and sheep and a small flock of chickens at one point. I developed a love for animals and a dream to become a veterinarian very early in life. That dream came true in 1992 when I graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Apparently, I wanted a challenge to begin my career, so I started in an emergency practice in Charlestown, West Virginia. It was truly trial by fire, and I learned a lot quickly. After a few years I took a job at a small animal practice in Gaithersburg, Maryland and was part of that amazing practice for many years. I’ve been offered a new position at another amazing practice closer to home and can’t wait to join this family and continue to help make my furry patients healthy and happy for many years to come.
In my spare time I enjoy working in my yard, walking on the C&O canal, laughing with friends, and trying to wrangle in my two senior trouble makers-Flash and Peanut.
