I grew up in a house with one dog and parents who did not plan on having pets. Then I came along and brought home all the stray creatures. My step-mom used to work at an animal hospital and would bring home all kinds of strays that needed cared for. I fell in love with vet med when I helped care for those stray animals who needed extra love. From a cat hit by a car, fostering orphaned kittens and puppies, or caring for a spinal injury cat in a wheelchair. I graduated from Clarion University in 2015 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and spent my four years there volunteering at a cat shelter. I planned on applying to vet school, but life had different plans and I worked at a spay and neuter clinic and Petco. When I welcomed my daughter in 2019, we moved back to southern Pennsylvania and I applied to Wilson College for their Veterinary Nursing program.
Through Wilson, I had the privilege to intern at Kingsbrook. I loved everyone’s compassion and the ability to freely ask questions to help me continue to grow in this field. I graduated from Wilson in 2024 and was able to come back to Kingsbrook full time. I am thankful every day for finding such a wonderful team to work with and continue to learn from.
I share what we call our mini-zoo with my husband Dan and two kiddos, McKenna and Theo. We currently have 2 dogs, Rico and Gabby, 5 cats, Zander, Bran, Orianna, Ben, and Bing Bong, and two Western Hognose snakes, Mew and Rapidash. In my free time I love spending time with my family and animals, and reading.
