I have been with KAH since Nov 2022. I love it here so much! I love seeing all of the clients coming in but I especially love seeing the patients! It’s fun to go home and tell my husband I got some kisses at work and see his expression!
I am originally from Arkansas. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I moved to the DMV to obtain my Master’s in Forensic Psychology and get a job in Law Enforcement. I became a Police Officer where I stayed for over 8 years. I sadly became unable to perform my police duties due to an injury. I thought about what my passions were as I was wanting a fresh career outside of Law Enforcement. The answer was simple, animals. I have always had cats, but at times had birds, fish, and dogs in my life as well. I have babysat cats and dogs for coworkers and supervisors. I love all animals, but am partial to kitties!
I looked for a place where I could find a career, not just a job. I did a lot of research. I read a lot of reviews. I applied to KAH and became even more impressed when I toured their facility. KAH has the tools necessary to help animals, staff with the knowledge to find out what’s going on with a sick pet, and the standard of service that I hadn’t seen before in all of the vets I’ve used through the years. Everyone made me feel welcome and the professionalism was exactly what I was looking for in a home.
My husband Nate and I live in Mt Airy, MD with our furry kids (cats) Little Guy (17 years old) and Buffy (1 year old) Believe me, I’d have more but my husband imposes a limit of 2 on me! 🙁 In my free time I do special effects makeup, make masks, and some props and costuming. I also do cake and cupcake decorating. Something interesting about me is that I have been a vegetarian for 23 years as of 2022!
