Kingsbrook Animal Hospital Offers Minimally Invasive Surgery

Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) uses laparoscopes to perform surgeries using much smaller incisions than traditional surgery.  As many of you know from your own surgical procedures, the benefits of MIS include:

  • less time under anesthesia
  • less pain
  • fewer complications
  • less time in the hospital
  • quicker recovery

The procedures being offered include:

  • Liver Biopsy
  • Spay
  • Gastropexy (a surgery typically completed in larger breed dogs in which the stomach is tacked to the ribcage to prevent stomach torsion (also known as “bloat” or “gastric dilatation volvulus”).

Everyone at Kingsbrook has been wonderful with our pets! They have immense patience with our huge, SUPER excited, black lab puppy. The follow up is impeccable, they literally follow up just to see how my babies are feeling or if I have any questions. Dr. Cook does not pressure me to get a lot of testing or procedures.

I can not thank this office enough for all they had done for my dog, he was not scheduled to see them for another week, but due to an injury they got him in the same day. Dr. Riley is fantastic as are the techs. I was a nervous dad taking Anna in for her first appointment for shots etc. but Dr. Riley did a phenomenal job with Anna, explained everything, engaged me in conversation and left me with a sense of calm.
