Downtown Dog Friendly Frederick, Maryland
How lucky are we to live in a town that is so dog friendly! Downtown Frederick is as dog friendly as they come! It is year round welcoming to our fury friends. There are many stores and restaurants downtown that are dog friendly, just look for the “My Dog’s Digging Downtown Frederick” sticker on business windows. As long as there is a sticker, dogs are welcome! You will also find some dog water bowls near the entrances of these stores if your dog gets thirsty on their downtown adventure. While downtown, you should also check out the dog park located in Baker park.
Being able to walk the streets of downtown Frederick with your dog is one of huge advantages to living in Frederick. There are so many restaurants that you can also enjoy with your pet. La Paz, Cafe Nola, Doner Bistro and Ben & Jerry’s are some of the restaurants that allow dogs on their patio to dine with you. It is awesome to be able to go out to dinner, sit outside, and enjoy dinner with your dog. After dinner, feel free to take a stroll with your dog and go shopping. As long as you see the “ sticker” on the business’ window, your dogs are welcome.
Dog Days of Summer, Sponsored by Downtown Frederick Partnership, is always a big hit for dog lovers. Besides the regular dog friendly restaurants and stores, there are contests for your dog, parades, music, and “yappy” hour.
During the summer there is also an event called Alive @ Five. This is live music on the creek for you and your dogs to enjoy, for an admission of $5.00. This 21 and over event takes place on Carroll Creek between 5:00pm-8:00pm every other Thursday evening. KAH has been known to have a booth there, so you may see some of our staff members if you stop by! 🙂
Frederick is filled with many events & places for you and your dog to enjoy! Most of our staff live & visit downtown Frederick frequently, so we hope to see all of you and your fury friends while out and about downtown!
