Josh Gourley

I started working at Kingsbrook Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant in June 2003. I spent 7 years working in general human medicine before specializing in human orthopedics. I have a 6 year old green tree python named Faust.

I am currently enrolled at Hood College as a Law And Society/Philosophy double major. After completing my degree I intend on entering the Peace Corps and hopefully going to China or North Africa. I will then return and complete my masters in Urban Development at the University of Chicago

Josh with Sleepy and Faust.

Although I do not intend on pursuing a career in animal medicine, I do consider myself very lucky to work at a place where the staff and the medicine are top notch! I love animals, and specifically I am interested in conserving and educating others on reptile species.

I spent 7 & 1/2 years in the U.S. Army. My assignments have ranged from special operations to working as a medic in an infantry unit in Korea. My most recent assignment placed me in charge of the orthopedic clinic at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. where we orchestrated triage of patients coming back from Operations Anaconda and Iraqi Freedom.

I look forward to meeting you and your companions at our wonderful hospital!
